Beer coolers
A beer cooler chills the beer at the very moment you pour it – the keg itself does not need to be cooled. Here you will find dry coolers, wet coolers and python coolers from 18 to 200 litres per hour, with 1 to 4 lines, from manufacturers including Oprema and Selbach. The units listed here are available from stock; other sizes on request.
Dry cooler or wet cooler?
Dry coolers cool a solid cooling block through which stainless steel cooling coils run. They are compact, light and ready for use within a few minutes – ideal for parties, mobile use and spontaneous beer rounds. Single-line beer coolers are suitable for one type of beer, multi-line ones for two to four.
Wet coolers work with a water tank in which an ice bank forms. They need some lead time, but in return they deliver consistently cold beer for hours, even at high dispensing volumes – the right choice for catering, festival tents and continuous operation.
What is a python cooler?
If the keg is in the cellar and the bar is one floor higher, the beer warms up in the long line. A python cooler pumps chilled water alongside the beer line and keeps it cold all the way to the tap. Pay attention to the specified lifting height (e.g. 6 m or 18 m) and the line length (e.g. 20 m or 30 m).
What should I look for when buying?
- Dispensing capacity (l/h): 25 l/h corresponds to about 100 glasses of 0.25 l per hour, 60 l/h to about 240 glasses.
- Number of lines: one line per type of beer.
- Line diameter: NW 7 mm is standard, NW 10 mm for high flow rates and long distances.
- Air compressor: models with an air compressor dispense without a CO2 cylinder – practical if the keg is emptied quickly.
